For the first time the land registry will be publishing information publicly to help expose any flaws in the conveyancing sector, they are initially looking to publish the first 500.
“to make conveyancing simpler, faster and cheaper for everyone”. The land registry has confirmed that it receives more than 5,000 messages per day requesting more information before completion.
The aim is to publish the top 500 biggest conveyancers, which will show users the number of applicants needing further work.
The Competitions and Market Authority have stated that there isn’t sufficient info available when it comes to price, quality or service to help the public.
This statement was published by HM land registry on the 27th December 2017 and full information on this can be found here.
