It has been announced that Denny’s, the American diner chain will open its first UK restaurant at Hammerson’s Parc Tawe in Swansea in December 2017. This is part of the retail and leisure park’s 15 million redevelopment scheme and the restaurant will occupy a 4,000 square foot unit.
Denny’s Diner was established in 1954 in California and now operates around 2,000 restaurants all across the world including the USA, Japan, Canada, Venezuela, Costa Rica, Mexico and the Dominican Republic. Most of its restaurants are franchised.
Hammerson’s UK Director of Retail Parks, Andrew Berger-North, expressed his excitement, saying:
“We are delighted to welcome Denny’s to the UK. The signing of such an exciting and highly anticipated brand as Denny’s is testament to Parc Tawe’s appeal and our plans to create a leading, contemporary and attractive retail destination for Swansea.”
The chain’s Swansea restaurant is expected to open at the end of the year and plans to open further nine locations throughout the UK in the next few years. The location details have not yet been revealed.
